Montrose Christian Fellowship
Showing forth the love of Christ at home and around the world

Dear Brethren,

As you can see by this email we landed safely in Malaysia after a very long trip. We were met at the airport by Pastor Peter Khoo and his wife Shirlyn. We were busy yesterday renewing fellowship with various brethren. Although we were exhausted last night, due to the jet travel and time difference, Malaysia being twelve hours ahead, we did not get a good nights sleep. It will take another couple of days to get acclamated

The Sunday service went well this morning. There are a lot of young adults there, always a good sign. I spoke out of Acts 7, "What kind of house will you build for me?" It was a challenging message. A message that demanded a response to God. I did not have any altar call after the Word but during my final prayer I did sense many people responding to God in their hearts. So I'm thankful the Word was well received and even Pastor Peter was taking notes. Afterwards Pastor Peter, Shirlyn and myself went out to lunch. We had a good time of fellowship discussing the things of God.

I know that our continued fellowship with Peter is of God. I believe God is going to use him even more to open up doors. I don't know all that is shaping up for this week but I know we'll be meeting with a number of brethren.

Today is a very warm day, high well into the 90's but it should cool off tonight. As more shapes up I will try to keep you well informed.

Blessings In Christ,

Pastor Lou

Last night we met with John Chin and his wife Angelina. John heads up ministry/missions teams that go throughout asia and Angelina pastors a church in their home city of Seremban. Besides truly enjoying the fellowship together we were also discussing possibilities for next year.

As this is our third time back in Malaysia and having done extensive travel with John, he knows the focus and purpose of our ministry. He discussed Cambodia. A country that has been devastated in the past by civil war. As a result their literacy rate is only about 10%. Although invited in the past to go to Cambodia due to their low literacy rate I declined. Feeling that the type of ministry and teaching that we do would not be effective under their conditions. John mentioned that there are two areas in and near Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. He has contact with business men there who are educated and want to see their nation impacted for Christ. He encouraged us to go with him there next year.

Also in a similar vain, Peter Khoo spoke us that on our next trip traveling with him to east Malaysia, the Sarawak area, and into Indonesia. He has contacts with various churches and he feels we can be very effective to the brethren there. We mentioned that we are open and for all of us to keep it a matter of prayer and for them to pursue as the Lord leads.

I cannot stress enough the necessity on waiting on the Lord, being sensitive to His Holy Spirit, and letting Him direct our paths. We are doing well and the ministry and fellowship has been wonderful. Thank you for you prayers and standing with us.

Blessings to all,

Pastor Lou

Friday, September 15

Dear Brethren,
Its hard to believe a week has already passed. We have been used on
this trip to preach, encourage, personal ministry and support for Pastor
Peter Khoo.

We were supposed to have a meeting tonight but an elderly sister died,
not unexpectedly though. So all plans needed to be changed. This sister
was chinese so the funeral is being held in her house. I guess the
overflow stands in the street?

Our time in Malaysia gave us a chance to draw even closer to Pastor
Peter. I know we have been a real blessing and support to him as he is
dealing with certain church issues. As I had previously written we are
already seeking the Lord as to where God would want us to minister next
year. Pastor Peter and John Chin have a quickening in their spirits as
well.

Tomorrow we leave for Kunming, China. Although I don't know the
itinerary I do have an expectation in my heart.

Please keep Bro. Ric in your prayers. He has come down with a bad cold.
This is not the time you want to feel like you're dragging. I have been
loading up with vitamin c and would appreciate prayer for him and
myself as well.

Remember, I will be sending touristy, generic emails (and photos if
possible) back home. Its for everyones protection in Kunming, we are
dealing with a communist system that by nature is opposed to true
christianity. You are all in my prayers. God bless.

Pastor Lou
